Swissmedic: Agreement with Korean Republic

As announced by the Swiss Regulatory Authority Swissmedic, a Memorandum of Understanding in the area of therapeutic products was signed with the Korean Ministry for Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). This was part of a state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea.
With this, Swissmedic has further expanded its network on the basis of agreements with partner authorities. A total of ten such agreements have been signed to date, including the authorities in Australia, Brazil, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and the USA. Furthermore agreements exist with three authorities in EU countries, the Paul-Ehrlich Institut and the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices in Germany and the Irish Medicines Board in Ireland.
This clearly shows the commitment towards intensifying international collaboration. In light of an increasing globalization and therefore in a continually changing regulatory environment and new technological and scientific developments this is an important step to take. After all this results in a win-win situation for everybody involved.
